National delivery

Our logistics setup is the heart of Nomeco. With warehouses in Copenhagen, Odense and Aarhus, we deliver daily to pharmacy customers throughout Denmark - and we also deliver to the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Danish hospitals.

Strong partnerships with pharmacies

Our basic task is to act as a pharmaceutical wholesaler for Danish pharmacies. This means that we ensure that the pharmacies have the medicines and other pharmacy products they need to ensure a high reliability of supply to the public.

We build strong partnerships with pharmacies through close dialogue and local presence. These close relationships are essential for us to develop the services we offer and for us to have a transparent and trusting partnership.

We see the collaboration as an equal partnership where both parties understand each other's business and create value for our common customers - citizens and patients who need medicine or other pharmacy products.

What does the partnership look like in everyday life?

Each pharmacy unit has access to a dedicated team, including a dedicated contact person, VMI consultants and a customer service team who know the pharmacy inside out. In addition, our digital solutions help provide a fast and accurate response to the pharmacy's needs.

All pharmacy customers receive the same basic services, but we customise them to each pharmacy's unique needs. In addition, we offer several events annually that benefit both current and future pharmacists.

We prioritise the environment by implementing long-term solutions such as digital goods receipt and by focusing on waste reduction. Together with our pharmacy customers, we are working towards a more sustainable future. Read more about our initiatives under ‘Sustainability’.

We pride ourselves on being able to offer the pharmacy all relevant pharmacy products. Our wide range covers all needs for both private and hospital pharmacies.

We deliver:

  • Human and veterinary medicines
  • Well-known branded products
  • ‘Non-registered specialities’ (IRS). These specialities, which are not approved in Denmark, can be prescribed by doctors with authorisation from the Danish Medicines Agency.

To meet the need for IRS, we have Specific Pharma, our subsidiary that is the European market leader in unauthorised and special purpose medicines. Specific Pharma specialises in supplying medicines for clinical trials and drug shortage situations.

Terms of trade

We distribute and sell pharmaceuticals that are active according to the Danish Medicines Agency - these can be found at: www.medicinpriser.dk. In addition, Nomeco distributes and sells a wide range of other products: Branded/free trade products, Unregistered Specialities (IRS) and veterinary medicines.

Our legal basis is a section 39 licence under the Danish Medicines Act (also known as a GDP licence), which entitles us to wholesale distribution of pharmaceuticals.

Nomeco is continuously under regular inspection by the authorities, and we are committed to stocking and distributing products in accordance with the applicable and relevant legislation at all times.

Nomeco's employees who are present in the pharmacy are subject to confidentiality under the rules of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Prices, discounts & payment terms

The pharmacy's purchase prices (AIP) for pharmacy-reserved medicines can be found at www.medicinpriser.dk. For other items, AIPs can be found through Nomeco's digital solutions.

Payment terms vary from immediate payment to current month plus 45 days (or current week plus 57 days) from the time of delivery. For pharmacists who joined after 30 June 2023, the maximum payment term is current month plus 15 days.

These specific payment terms are determined by mutual agreement between the pharmacy and Nomeco. In certain cases, Nomeco may request a credit assessment of the pharmacy. See credit terms in the current discount sign below.

In addition, Nomeco offers the possibility to provide cost-justified discounts on pharmacy-reserved medicines. There are no restrictions on the trade size.

Discounts that apply to private pharmacies

According to section 37 of Executive Order no. 849 of 29/04/2021 on advertising etc. for medicinal products, we as a supplier must publish our standard delivery and discount terms for pharmacy customers. You can find Nomeco's discounts below.

Order placement

Nomeco offers a wide range of electronic self-service solutions for the pharmacy. Nomeco encourages the pharmacy to utilize these solutions as much as possible. Orders to Nomeco must be placed electronically or exceptionally by contacting Nomeco's customer service. The pharmacy can order a maximum of 30 packs of a prescription product per day.

We deliver goods once a day from Monday to Friday, with the option to purchase Saturday deliveries. We do not deliver on public holidays, but extra deliveries for public holidays can be arranged for a fee. In Denmark, delivery is free of charge, while deliveries to non-British islands are agreed individually.

If the pharmacy has not agreed regular daily deliveries with Nomeco, a handling fee of DKK 750.00 may apply.

The pharmacy must ensure that Nomeco's drivers have access to the goods reception so that the delivery can take place under optimal conditions. Nomeco endeavours to place the goods as follows:

  • All goods are delivered in the same room/area
  • A maximum of 5 boxes in height
  • The delivery is sorted by name on the box

For refrigerated deliveries, a handling fee of DKK 750.00 may apply if the pharmacy has not agreed on regular daily deliveries from Nomeco.

In case of urgent need for pharmacy-reserved medicines, Nomeco can offer an urgent delivery service. Please note that this only applies in Denmark - including only to continental islands. In exceptional cases, urgent deliveries may be subject to a handling fee of DKK 750.00 per delivery.

Returns and credits

The following guidelines apply to the return and crediting of pharmacy-retained medicines:

  • Medicines that are not active in the tariff or have expired will only be credited if the supplier compensates Nomeco for the full amount. Generally, items can only be returned to the wholesaler where the item was purchased.

  • Returns of saleable pharmacy-reserved medicines can only be made by agreement with Nomeco and in accordance with the applicable discount label. Saleable medicines must have a shelf life of more than 6 months to expiry.

  • Both the pharmacy and Nomeco must comply with the applicable rules on CAP 30 (restrictions on the number of packs when returning), which is described in section 33 of the Advertising Order and determined by the supplier.

  • The pharmacy must complete one return slip per box of returned medicinal products and sign that the storage and handling of the products at the pharmacy has taken place in accordance with the applicable storage conditions for each individual product.

Invoicing

All deliveries include an invoice. Invoicing follows the delivery. This ensures that the invoice is issued within 30 days after the delivery has taken place.

Customer service

When the pharmacy calls Nomeco customer service, the calls are recorded by default. If this is not desired, press 5 and the call will not be recorded.

Complaints

Manufacturers are responsible for the quality of their products and therefore the responsibility for product complaints related to quality always lies with the manufacturer or importer. If the pharmacy wishes to make a complaint about a product, a form must be filled out, which can be found on Nomeco Service Solutions under Product Complaints. The form is sent electronically, then printed and included with the goods returned to Nomeco. Exceptions to this procedure can be found on Nomeco Service Solutions.

In the event of an error in a product delivery, the pharmacy is asked to make a complaint via Nomeco App - alternatively, Nomeco customer service can be contacted.

Price crediting

In the event of price reductions on stocked pharmacy-reserved pharmaceuticals, Nomeco will credit the pharmacy if the supplier compensates Nomeco for the full amount. Nomeco credits according to the stock file received from the pharmacy's IT system in connection with price changes. The pharmacy receives price compensation on Tuesday of the 2nd tariff week.

The pharmacy must comply with the rules on CAP (limitations on the number of packs for price crediting), which are described in the Advertising Order §33 and/or determined by the supplier.
